Black / brown bits in hot water

I have a Ravenheat Combi boiler that appears to be working well. However we have noticed small black / brown chippings in the hot water. It is not rust (doesn't stick to a magnet). Can anyone tell me what they are ? If they are important and how to get rid of them ?

Possibly some sort of scale buildup that is dispersing?
