black wallpaper

Hi All

Ive got to paper a wall with black paper, at the moment the wall is coated with white emulsion, should i coat it black before i start so not to see white background if joints open up slightly? Thx

Two things you can do are, If you measure where your paper is going to go then you can paint broad lines in black emeulsion along where the seams will go, this will help if the paper contracts a little when it dries. Secondly you can but coloured crayons that you run across the egde of the roll of paper to get rid of any white edges.
Dont force the paper to dry to quick as this will make it shrink too fast. No heating on.
Butt joint the edges and use a seam roller to run up and down to keep the edge tight.
