Hi, In my living room we have 2 light switches operating the main ceiling light, I want to put a blanking plate over one of them. I used a choc box separated the wires just as they were separated in the switch but this caused the light to have no power from the switch I intend to keep. I assume that some of the wires need to remain in circuit within the choc block but I`m not sure which wires to connect. Any advice would be much appreciated.

If that is a 2-way switch and wires 1 and 2 were connected together then within your terminal strip connect together wires 1, 2 and 3 together. Wire 4 has its own terminal. If you then find that the remaining light switch operates in the upside-down mode then rewire the terminal block such that wires 1,2 and 4 are connected together with wire 3 in its own terminal.

1 and 2 must remain connected for other rooms to work. But you much also connect one of the other wires to them too.

Try either. If the other switch works upside down then swap to the other wire.

Thanks guys :D
wires 1,2 & 3 together worked..... I didn't want to try the trial and error approach so your answers were spot on!
