I am in the process of rearranging the bedroom (under orders from MOH or else I get a lack of favours).

The wall where the sockets are now is going to be covered by a built in wardrobe. I wish to extend the ring to another wall and will be using the new style JB's by hager (http://www.hager.co.uk/product-catalogue/wiring-accessories/junction-boxes/maintenance-free-junction-box/j803/24078.htm) to do so.

As I have now removed the socket outlets and replaced them with a blanking plate, can I use 32Amp choc blocks (inside the back box) to keep the ring live or do I need to withdraw the cables from the fitting and use the hagers above to keep the ring live. The hagers would be placed below the floor boards (on first floor).

Thanks

You are obviously aware that junction boxes must be accessible or be a ( so called ) maintainance free type of junction box.

So will the terminals of the
32Amp choc blocks (inside the back box)
be accessible when the wardrobes are fitted ?

Would it not be better to replace the cables to sockets that are being kept functional rather than patching across the ends of cables.

The choc blocks will not be easily accessible so therefore guess will have to use maintenance free j box and pull cable down to below floorboards.

Cannot replace the cables due to the route they run thats why I am looking at patching from the first existing box on the ring, insert two new sockets and then patch into the ring for the run to the next socket and then the original ring runs back to the consumer unit.

Have you considered that you may need the sockets in the built in wardrobe for internal lights?
