I recently did some taping and filling on a white ceiling with Matt White paint. I used a small roller and the same paint I used 8 months ago. Much to my surprise, this has completely blended in. I thought it may appear as a fresh patch of paint.

Q. I’ve got a dark grey wall (painted 8 months ago) which also needs a repair. If I use a roller here too, will it blend in too? Or have I been lucky with the ceiling white.

Thanks in advance.

You should able to fill and make good, but it would be best to paint all of the wall due to slight fading of original paint, the wall is on a differnt plane to the ceiling so trying to repair and paint a small area would be noticeable

The darker the colour the less likely you are to get away with touching in.
