Yeah crack on.

When plastering between board and normal plaster, you need to scrape the skim finish off the board at the junction (30mm or so) and fit some scrim tape across the joint between the board and the plaster. Skim over the top and this will prevent cracking.

You aren't blocking off a means of escape in case of fire presumably, just saying.
