I want to remove an internal doorway and was thinking of doing it using breeze-blocks. The reason for this is that the space created will be used to mount the new central heating boiler so I wanted something a bit more "solid" than a stud wall.

How is best to tie-in the blocks with the old door frame?

The breeze-blocks will have a plaster skim after fitting.

Thanks for looking!

It's best to take out the door frame (for rots reason + timber need to breathe)otherwise the plaster will always have a hairline crack with the timber expanding. You can either chop out approx 4" on every other one on each side to tie in the blocks or use this to screw it inside the wall edge then blocks in between. Also make sure a lintel is there above the door for a bearing wall

Thanks Masona, that's exactly what I've been looking for.

Cheers
