Blocking old gas fire flue?

We've got a precast flue for our gas fire which has been removed, as were having a media wall built in front of it with an electric fire.

Going to board over the hole in the wall, but should I seal or stuff the flue with anything to stop drafts and stuff coming down it?

You should ventilate it to prevent damp problems .

Yep that's what I was concerned about. Ok will leave the flue open and insulate the boarding instead, thanks!
