blocking up a internal doorway

fnt can i ask your expert advice on blocking up several doorways internal, theres floor boards all over the house , would you take up the floor board and build from over site? :)
 
If the masonry partitions exist below the floor boards then go ahead, otherwise it will be a costly exercise having to dig foundations.

You may be able to fit a pcc lintel and build off this, but i would be inclined to build a stud partition.

lintel seems a good idea thanks noseall :)
 
If the walls are load bearing they should continue through beneath the floorboards and have their own footing. If they are non load bearing they could be built off timber sole plates fixed to the joists.
