At £100 for repair, leaning towards replace. It is tripping the RCBO.

Well, just in case, set insulation tester to 250 volts, tested, and all passed, plugged in, and running again, so not a clue now, was it really the dishwasher that caused the problem?

Have you checked the obvious things like supressor, heating element, ribbon cables to the door (if that is where the controls are mounted ) ?

It would seem likely a suppressor fault, since what ever is wrong, trips RCBO without it being switched on, which is likely a cheap part. But age means getting down on my knees to repair it is not easy.

Over the years, I have repaired various white goods (fridges/ovens/tumble driers/washing machines/etc). My dishwasher... I gave up on it. You have to strip down the whole machine to get to the bits that might need replacing.

Ups, missed this thread, I decided needed to check dishwasher actually faulty, and the insulation tester set at 250 volt showed no faults, not a clue what was wrong, but dishwasher up and running again. The comment

means yes if it goes faulty, replace, but lucky for me, not showing as faulty any more.
