Machine starts to spin then changes it's mind, tries to rearrange clothes, tries again a couple of times then gives up.
After running spin only cycle 5 or 6 times it finally goes for it.
I assume it's got some sort of imbalance sensor that is a bit too keen, but I can't find it to adjust/replace/disable.
And the wife is now in full nagging mode.
Any suggestions?

Could be just draining too slowly as it won't go onto spin until most of the water has drained out. Check the filter and waste plumbing.

i cant speak for your m/c but modern m/c do have an "imbalce sensor" without it your m/c will shake and break dance leave it alone. how ever i would suggest you put in slightly less for each wash load

Way-hay!!
You'll do for me Simon26r.
Disconnected pipe, big blow down it and POP.
Out shot whatever it was.
Done a load and - bingo - span first time.
It's not done that for ages.
Cheers everyone for your posts (particularly Simon).
Kebabs all round (touch wood)

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
