I was in the shower the other night when half way through, the water went freezing and the light went out on the pull switch. I wrapped a towel on me and with the help of a few candles, changed the 45amp fuse but the shower was still off  After about 40 minutes of turning the electricity on and off whilst I changed other fuses in the dark I couldnt get it to work. In the hope that my new 45amp fuse had been a dud I tied my sopping wet hair up and drove to B+Q. I bought another fuse but when I got home the new one wouldnt work either. As a last try I changed the 30amp fuse and lo and behold the shower worked whoop whoop :D equalling one very happy Heather!
Anyhoo, my question is, is there any chance that my fairy lights might have blew my shower?!?!
The only extra thing that I have in my house over the past couple of days is a set of flashing fairy lights that ive wound up my staircase but are plugged in, in my living room downstairs and my shower is in the bathroom upstairs. I just want to check as I havnt dare turn them on since my shower blew. Im hoping this was the reason as I dont want to have a serious problem with my shower as I only changed the fuse about a year ago.
Any advice would be great thanks,
Heather :p

1st let's clarify what circuit fuse the shower is on. Could you pull the shower fuse, does the shower stop working (yes / no required).

I'm concerned that when the shower went out you mention that to resolve it you changed the 30a (ring / socket) fuse to get it working !

Further investigation required:-

Post a picture of your fuse board
Confirm the make and model of shower (so I can confirm it's required fuse rating).

When I pull the shower cord the shower still works but the water is cold.

The fuse for the shower is 45amp.

I replaced this with a new fuse but nothing happened.

I replaced the 30amp with a new 30amp fuse that was on a different pin on my fuse board and hot water came back on in my shower. Dont quite understand as I didnt know this fuse pin had anything to do with my shower.

My shower is a Creda Aquablue Model No. 53-551056.

Il try and get some photos downloaded for you.

Thanks a lot :)

Photos will be a huge help for this one!!! Is there no labelling on the fuse board?

Not an ideal combination.
