Has anyone had to change their injectors? If so, are they a straight swap or do they need "Reprogramming" - a rumor i heard!! I'm not doing it but some one told my local garage the spray pattern needs to be set.

I had an injector changed in my Freelander which I understand is the same engine as the 320d (if tuned a little differently). I don't know the ins and outs of it, but they didn't have a big job changing it - the actual injector cost a bloody fortune though! As far as I know they are a straight swap.
