We have just had a major problem in one of our lofts, first due to wiring problem,it was damaged due to things being put on top by mistake by me. The garage ceiling at one side has started to bow, due to stuff being stored between some of the rafters, (yes I know, golden rule you shouldn't do that.) Husband wasn't too pleased. We have been trying to screw the plaster board back onto the rafters as it has come away from the rafters by 1.5 inches. but some of the nails which are still in are preventing it from being attached back. Any suggestions without having the expense of getting someone in to take part of the ceiling down? I am also going to have to put more boards in the main loft so that this doesn't do the same thing.

ever thought about throwing away some stuff instead of hording.

remove any new screws that are sticking proud

plank of wood 4 inches wide and long enough to bridge the bow allong the joist
assuming its just one joist whack it home with gentle pressure centre one side then the other centre one side then the other untill fully home

if more than one joist involved work it up gradualy till flat

if the ceiling will only stay fully up with pressure
try supporting centraly accross the bulge add screws centraly between the holes allong the joists dont rely on the screws to pull up the bump as the screws are likely to pull through
