Boat doors made in France

Hi would really appreciate any advice, my husband is exasperated with two doors we had made when we were in the south of france on our boat, we are now in the north and neither of the doors shut properly without really banging them. Last night we could not get one open so tried the other which had not been open for a while, then it just would not shut there was a good bit sticking over the steel , we had to go to bed with it tied to the other to keep it closed! Any suggestions please.... He has checked the hinges which appear to be ok

The doors will have swollen due to a change in humidity and ambient temperature, and they will need to be eased with a plane.

Just remember if you plane it down and it re-dries, you could end up with a big gap.

Is the door made from verticle planks by any chance, if you didnt allow for movement between them, this will be why the door expands excessivly.
