BOILER cutting out

We Have a standard potterton wall mounted boiler approx 10 years old. We have a BG service contract. We have reset bthe boiler 4x but every couple of days it goes again. The engineer came out (10 mins -very busy m8! + said that the system needs flushing. I think he had a darts match on.

Is this a fair analysis?
 
Probably not. BG engineers are well known for being under unrealistic time pressures (I think not much more than 30 mins is allowed per visit!). Consequently they have to fob a lot of customers of with something like the response you got.

Also sludge problems aren't covered by your contract with them, opening up the opportunity to screw you some more. Of course, it might possibly be that you do have problems with sludge, but you need a second opinion on it. If you do need a system flush, BG will be expensive. If you could describe you boiler problem in more detail we might be able to help.
