Boiler dumping ALL water out of condensing pipe?

Can't believe it - we now can't reach our heating engineer! Bet he's on holiday... unlucky timing :(

Going to give him until the end of today - then try others.

Also going to chase up Remeha.

Will keep everyone posted for reference (especially with regard to cost and timings - and warranty issue).

You have three lines of enquiry!

Gas Safe to see if the installation was registered through them.

Building Control to see if it was registered with them ( if Gas Safe dont come up with something ).

The seller. Its a bit of a long shot but if they had a boiler installed its reasonable for you to expect they did it properly and notified Building Control and the manufacturer for the warrantee. It would not surprise me for a court case against the seller to succeed in thos circumstances.

Finally Remeha as the boiler is clearly within the five years warrantee on the heat exchanger. But you must be firm about that. If you ask if the warantee is transferable then its not! Expect to need to take legal action against them if they dont cover it immediately without question.

Its these kind of things it helps us to know about. What they actually do with a failed boiler. Thats far more important than any glossy brochures!
