Hi guys,
Just a question as this has been identified by the engineer that our boiler has a 22mm pipe feed to it and it should be uprated to 28mm - but not all the way... What I don't understand is why they would suggest such a thing if you're not replacing the whole pipe just some of it as surely this just creates a bottleneck in a different location and doesn't really achieve much?

No it wont create a bottle neck . what it will achieve is meeting the maximum pressure loss from meter to boiler due to pipe size /length of run and amount of fittings used
How far from your meter is the boiler what make and model boiler is it and is there any other appliances on the supply to boiler

What the pressure actually was and what the situation is whether its a new install, thinking of having a new install or existing boiler that has plenty of life left will also help you to get the right advice
