I have a Halstead finest gold combo boiler which after I have ran hot water keeps trying to fire itself back up as if I was running hot again or heating was coming on it keeps doing this for several mins and the only way I can stop it is to run the hot water again. Any advice would be appreciated

If you live in a hard water area its likely that your diverter vave assembly is sticking or it is possibly the micro switch that is sticking, on these the front end seal sometimes weeps water and if this gets into the micro switch assembly it will short out and bring the boiler on good news is the diverter valve service kit or the micro switch assembly arent too expensive you would be able to replace the micro switch assembly yourself but I would get a heating engineer in if it need the diverter valve service kit

Ian evidently has too much work to do!

All the other heating engineers are struggling in a recession and will certainly not be advising you try to do it yourself!

They will say call them out to the job!

Cheers I had the diverter valve replaced about a year ago I'm waiting for Scottish power to service it. Service is overdue as I have had a nightmare booking one in with them so will mention this then
