limescale will only build up if fresh water is added and often, as the wate gives off its scale, when heated over about 65 degrees in hard water areas.
your problem is due to sludge most probs, and as suggested use X800 (will probs be wa better and quicker than X400) I will use this recommendation in future when required myself
