I been having problems with my boiler. It constantly loses pressure which makes heating not to come on.

This morning I opened slowly valve to allow water to flow through the filling loop. When I went to close it I accidently closed it to tight which made a clicking noise and I ended up with a piece of plastic in my hands. It was a bottom of valve I suppose. I cant open a valve anymore.

Heating is on and everything seems to be fine but I'm not sure if Ive done some damage to a boiler by breaking that valve. Im worried that it might explode or something.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks[/b]

You wont have done any damage to the boiler.

Often the plastic lever is held on by a screw. I suspect it is just the plastic which has broken. You might be able to get a new valve and just replace the lever. If you cant then you will need to replace the valve itself which is normally fairly easy but you might need to drain the system depending where it is located.
