Boiler problem

How to tell if 2 port valves or Timer is faulty? The Boiler green light do not ignite unless the HW on Timer is switch on but not when CH is switch on on Timer?? Please help?

Checking voltages at the wiring centre would establish the fault.
It's more likely the motorised valve than the programmer/ timer.
