Gloworm Ultimate Gas Boiler with acl lifestyle lp241 timer

My Boiler ignites ok when hot water timer switches, but I get no ignition when the timer switches on the central heating, can you tell me if the timer is most likely cause of this problem or the boiler.

synchron motor in the 3 way valve at a guess but more details on your system would be good
