Hi All,

I know this is a long shot but thought I'd ask anyway....

Basically, I have a Baxi Bermuda back boiler which is very old and probably not very efficient but works perfectly well and has had many parts changed over the years. It's the original boiler from 1965 but as I say, has had many parts changed over the years.

I was wondering whether there are any schemes out there to cover such a boiler in case of break down. Yes, I know it's a tall order but you never know....

Just trying to prepare myself for the day when it finally dies....

Many Thanks!!!

I wonder if these new fancy super efficient boilers will have a lifespan of 50 years :ROFLMAO:

you say it has many parts changed , it only has a few parts, outdated now yes but one of the most reliable boilers ever made, you certainly will never get the same service from any modern boiler

Thanks ianmcd, it was your advise in previous posts that's encouraged me to keep it as long as possible.

unless the seals go on the heat exchanger then everything else is still available, the heat exchanger is still available too but cost wise if it goes it would be better to get a new boiler, apart from that thermocouple and gas valves are about all that really goes on them, it has a thermostat too but they are pretty reliable, I havent changed many, just get it properly serviced every year, needs a proper service to make sure the lint arrestor is cleaned and it will happily chug away
