I have a 10+ year old Saunier Duval gas combi boiler. It has developed an intermittent leak, which is coming from the top compartment. The leak is accompanied by a regular ticking noise (roughly 1 tick per second), from the device in the upper compartment, which may last several minutes. Whilst this ticking is going on water drips (fairly heavily) down the back of my boiler onto the components and ground beneath.

I had a service engineer out to look at this but he want able to identify the cause of the leak (of course it wasn't leaking when he was there).

There is no real pattern to the leaking and it seems to happen any time of day and under no load conditions.

Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
