I have an Ideal Elan 2 Boiler, its been fitted since i moved in the house. The last few months It started to switch off and not return back on.
On my simple fault finding technique, I gave the boiler a bang on the side and it returned on.
I had an engineer come out and have a look, he could find no problem as it was working when he arrived.
The last week the bang on the side has not worked, but I banged the control box and it springs to life every time.
As it stands my heating will come on for a few hours as normal by the timer, it will switch off and not come back on until i bang the control box. Once i bang it it will remain working for a few hours, switch off until i bang it again.
Have you any ideas?
