Hi

Our Thorn Apollo is heading for it's 30th birthday, so it must be due for for retirement soon. Probably time to bit the bullet this summer, so I've started looking around.

For ease of replacement rear flue would be nice - but top flue is OK, feed/return should be at the top, no built in controller is necessary. Also a short min flue length would be a bonus as the boiler is in the integral garage, but on a single skinned wall (there is a frame behind the boiler which gives an effective wall thinkness of 200mm at present).

Currently having having read various spec sheets the Glow-worm HX 15 takes my fancy (or the HXi 15 if I forgo the rear flue and do a bit more brickwork - which may be an advantage and the min wall thickness for top flue in 75mm, whereas the less that 250ish doesn't seem to be an option with rear flue).

Anyway any comment welcomed, alternative models to consider, realiability etc?

Steve
