Its very quiet around here,in the past there has been a fire and firework display organised by the round table but i think cost and safety concerns have put a stop to it how about around the rest of the country?

They are pushing for licensed displays only from next year. See if it happens this time! :D

Had fireworks for the kids, as they enjoy the fun of me lighting them

My dad came down as my youngest daughter wanted 'Grampy' to hold her hand.

Fireworks are often abused, but real fun has been had tonight.

It's been hellish here. We're right in between the two public displays that the Council put on, plus various neighbours have been setting them off. The older dog has went frantic all night - totally stressed and barking constantly. The younger one has nearly run himself ragged because he was tearing about the house wondering what the older one was barking at.

Shoulda took the dog's valium ourselves!

I'm all for public displays only - at least it would confine the carry on to days and times that you can be aware of.

Plus, having watched the neighbours setting theirs off, personally they're a waste of money - all bang and no spark! What you can buy in the shops cannot compete with what the Council spend my Council Tax on!!

i love fireworks, me! I'm all for restricting it to certain days so children get to sleep and dogs don't go too nuts. Why not restrict it to the actual night and the saturday night before? Why ban private displays? Ban scrotes buying the things, along with booze, drugs, their ability to reproduce etc etc.

I had to laugh, watching the One show tonite, they lit a bonfire and the crowd seem to be a 1/4 of a mile away!
We used to be right on top of it and only moved when your puffer jacket started to melt!

Went to a firework display by the round table last Sunday!

Went to the free one that the council do in the park tonight too, was good :)

Fiiiizzzzz, Whoooooshhhhhh, BANG!
'Is that it dad?'
'Yep!'
'Its BORING!!! Can we go in and play on the computer now?'
'Yeah!'
'Hurray!!!'

I sincerely hope so - licence the events and only licence holders can buy fireworks. As far as i'm concerned there is no need for people to be letting off fireworks two weeks either side of the 5th. Keep it to the night of the 5th or the closest weekend and thats it. They've been letting them off for the last two weeks around us and i just can't get our dogs our of the house at all now. I'm amazed that anyone, no matter how irresponsible they are, over the age of 16 can buy something as dangerous as a firework. Besides which, you got to a proper display and the fireworks and 100 times better than the packs you pick up from the supermarket and let off in your garden. And if you're really tight you don't even have to pay to watch a public display - can hardly stop you watching something thats 100ft up in the sky!?!?

Just getting my hearing back after the last nights mayhem that is Lewes Bonfire!
