Hi All

Anyone bought Bosch 24 Volt Sds drills. I am interested in Bosch GBH 24 VFR . The machine itself is very good but the battery pack is very heavy. One retailer suggested I go for Bosch GBH 24VF same spec machine but lighter. Yesterday trying different machines I found that mid battery drills are steadier and easier to balance and handle then drills with batteries at back. They tend to lean back. Has anyone experiance this.

I would be grateful if persons owning above machines can share their experiance(s) of using the drill(s) with me to enable me to make the right decision. Thanks in advance.

im not sure what the difference is between the two but i have used the gbh24vfr for a few years now and its a great drill,20 mins charge on the batterys insures you always have power and you get used to the weight after using it for a while

have a look at the bosch 36v with lithium batteries - hell of a lot lighter and more powerful (touch dearer though)

HAVE A LOOK AT THE RYOBI, I BROUGHT A 24V SDS A YEAR AGO AND ITS GR8! THE SPEC IS BETTER THAN BOCSH, I PAYED £250 BUT THERE ON EBAY NEW @ £150... ALL THE BEST

i usually replace my drill every 8-10 months as they get a good bit of stick, (i work for a haulage and distribution firm and we have x3 masisve freezers - my drill works in temp ranges from +40 deg to -25 depending on where on the site im working, drilling concrete or metal) over the last 10yrs ive had some ammount of drills. Anyway ive had ryobi, makita boshe hilti ect and i have found the 24v boshe to be by far the best, most reliable and robust drill, my last 3 have been the 24v hammer action (non sds) the battery life is excelent and the charge time is really fast. £250 for a really good drill, an believe me i put mine thru their paces!
