Bosch fridge freezer

I wonder if someone can help with fridge freezer fan.
The fridge stopped cooling and the freezer is working fine. I turned the fridge fridge off 3 days ago and let it defrost. When i switched it on, i noticed the fan came on and then stopped.
So i took the fan out and wired it up on the bench and it worked fine but when i put it back in the fridge it's behaving in the same way ie runs for 5 to 10 seconds then stops.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Replace the thermostat. Find the spare part on espares. They even show you a video on how to change it.

Thank you for the reply. Fan now staying on. Not switching off. Now I'm trying to figure out why it froze in the first place. I've cleaned it all out.
