You need to remove the rear panel-prob about a dozen or so Torx screws
(T20/T25) Usually 2 either side centrally are larger ones.
Easier to get at the motor if you lean the machine against the kitchen unit
at 45 degrees.

Remove belt

Remove the two 12mm motor supporting bolts

Remove the plug to the motor and earth cable

Prise the motor forward with a flat blade screwdrive and it should come
away from the supports.

Replace brushes

Many thanks for your response. Unfortunately I have the Maxx WFL2000 UK01 machine, which doesn't have a detachable back panel.

But I'm sure that 'leaning against the wall at 45 degrees' is the way to go

.... and hopefully the rest will follow.

This has the tear drop shaped access panel at the rear.

One Torx screw at the 6 o'clock position and you are in........

That's it alright, but it's not exactly an easy access to the motor itself, is it?

However, by tipping it up, I'll get there - I hope!

It is fairly easy as you can get a socket on the mounting bolts through the
back and then withdraw the motor from underneath (with the machine tipped forward)

For an engineer its much quicker as he only has to remove the one screw
rather than a dozen to do the same thing......

OK - Job done. Thanks for the advice.

Dropped the motor out and was able to do the necessary brush replacement.

It may be of interest to know that the brushes were only worn down half-way BUT one had become stuck. It was difficult to remove and wouldn't slot back in again. And the new one was just the same.

So as advised, I filed the new one down until it slipped in comfortably.

I'm using the new set now, since it cost me £27, but I'm keeping the old set as spares, should I need them again.
