Fixed my Bosch WAQ243D1/09 washer today using a tip from this site. The plastic rivets holding the two door halves together snapped at the hinge make the door dropped. Checked for spares but only full cost for brand new door was showing at £119. But…..drilled out the rivets and screwed in a couple of self tapping screws. Problem now resolved. Thanks DIYnot.

Thanks for the info. Just had a similar problem that needs me to remove all the plastic rivets (Bosch WAQ283S1GB/09) to replace the door hinge, but just didn't know how to approach it. Out of interest what size of self-tappers did you use?

The self tapping screws were no more than 25-30mm. Luckily found a couple in my kitchen drawer just waiting to be used. Drilled Out the rivets easy enough with a wood drill bit.
