Bosch WFF 1201 Rotted Door Gasket

The rubber seal between the drum and the door is rotting. I have ordered a new one, and want to try to replace it myself. Am I mad?

I intend to take off the restraining wire and then remove the front panel. I presume that it is plane sailing from there on in. Any words of wisdom gratefully received.

You will have an outer and inner retaining ring on the seal.

Make sure the power is off before removing the seal, check which way up it goes.

smear watered down washing up liquid around the part of the seal that sits on the ledge of the outer drum.

Generally start at one point and slowly work my way round takes about 10 mins to fit and check.

fit to outer of port hole

Refit retaining rings.

Never taken the front panel off for one.
