Botched Patio?

Hi all,

Just hoping to get your opinions, feeling very frustrated by a recent job we had completed by a local handy man but I don't have enough knowledge to know if its been done correctly. It just looks a bit botched?

We asked for 4 new slabs o be replaced and the missing mortar to be repaired on the garden patio.

It's been two weeks and the sand looks to be breaking away. He used cement in places and paving sand im guessing in the other places? It rained not long after he installed this and he didn't cover which seemed silly to me.

In the photo with the big gap I'm worried that when it rains water could get in and compromise my property? It's half a meter from my property (half a meter wide original concrete path between patio and property). Should I be worried about this? Do I need to get it redone.

I just feel so let down.

Tia.

Just needs the pointing sorting out.
Call the guy back

I have no idea what mix he used for the pointing but if it was a weak mix or just sand then it needs to be a stronger mix of mortar. If it rained heavily just after he pointed those slabs up then that could have washed some of the mortar out. The other thing as well is that rest of the patio needs a damn good clean so that the old slabs match the new slabs he has laid. Bottom line, get him back.
