Having never built one before i wonder if someone could shed some light onto the actual construction of a box gutter system or the best way to go about it at least, the space i have to work with is 8 inches wide by 3.6 meters long i guess it would be with timber, ply and lead but i have no idea of the drop or how to seal it, as once constructed it would be be difficult to access it again I've looked at the aluminium ones but the prices are more than silly ...thanks

Forming a box gutter is very simple, but to determine what Code lead, girth and drips are required, need to know depth of gutter and what is draining into it on both sides. ie flat felt or pitched tiles, slate, or whether it is against a parapet

Does it need to be a box gutter, or could you use a normal [one piece] plastic 100mm or 150mm gutter and incorporate this into the roof edge?

Well looking at the end elevations on the left is a existing kitchen extension and going up next to it is a gable ended conservatory this leaves me with an 8 inch gap between where i need to build the box gutter to catch the runoff from the conservatory the depth can be anyzise, its closed off at the far end where my external wall is now so its just one legth of 3.6 meters that has one end closed and the other end will drop in to a hopper. The conservatory only has a frount and one side so i will have to build the support structures for the unsupported roof side near the gutter i will have to build a timber frame to support the gutter and hold upvc boards where the gap is between the kitchen and the conservatory
