I've exposed the brick around the fireplace in one of my bedrooms. This is to match the exposed fireplace in another bedroom which was done by previous owner. The bricks in the newly exposed fireplace look faded compared to the finished one. How can I make them look fresher?
I also don't know how to finish the bricks in the new fireplace. The completed fireplace has a kind of waxy varnished look. Is it varnish ya reckon? I've seen previous posts about varnish but dunno if it's safe to use on a fireplace.
