I'm doing a side extension and have 5 airvents which need to be bridged to the new outer wall as the new extension will have a solid concrete floor and the existing house has a wooden floor with crawl space

The building inspector told me to put a pipe in from the existing airvents to the new one, but he didn't say what pipe to use, and if i could run it in the concrete.

We are putting the new pipe below the existing airbrick

questions

what pipe should i use / can I use, can I use normal rainwater pipe

Should the pipe be under the damproof membrame or can the pipe be concreted in

Thanks

RW downpipe does not have the same cross-sectional area as an air brick - ie you will reduce the air flow ...unless you use two downpipes per 75mm airbrick

Use 100mm underground (drain) pipe, and don't bodge it by just placing it next to the air bricks - feed it though to the underfloor void and then use a proper round to rectangular connector to connect the pipe the new airbrick periscope liner
