Bristan shut off

yeah that's it, the plan is to go for like for like and just get the newer version. The £115 was a price for the handle and they advised it 'might' fit and then the valve was around £45 and parts only.

I'm hoping that the fitting plate is the same so I don't have any messing around with the tiles and then I assume that the elbows will rotate upwards as they are at the moment and will be the same spacing so technically take one off, put the new back in it's place.

Bristan have just responded saying that as I'm an existing customer there is a product refresh available at a discounted £661.50......erm no thanks and just found it for £242 on Amazon which is good as I have vouchers.

All ordered from Bristan store on Amazon as I had £98 of vouchers

Going to give it a go myself at the weekend, failing that I've got someone I can hopefully call upon. Now I know about the maintenance, I'll get that done now although what sort of interval is recommended?

Thanks @Madrab for the help and advice, it's much appreciated

Yup, should be a straight swap. Just be careful - when you take the old one off - once the water is off of course - you will be left with the old nuts and olive from the old valve. It will be easier for you to re-use these and not try to remove them, you may need a wrap or 2 of GAS PTFE tape around the old olive just to ensure there are no leaks. You can try it without but if they do weep then a little tape will sort it

As far as maintenance is concerned, then it should be in the installation instructions and it should be pretty clear about how to sort that out.

Well not a great start, can't get the nuts to loosen on the feed pipes. Tried wd40 but just not budging and pipe wrench just slipping and scratching nuts

Ok after lots of persuasion, finally got the pipes undone, left the original olives, obviously the backing plate was different fittings but did it as tight as we could on 1 screw instead of 2 and it's working.

Never thought I could do it but thanks again guys
