Hi All.

We have a Bristan Shower in our en-suit which over the last year or so has become more and more difficult to turn off.
When new, the water shut off with the handle at the 12 o'clock position but now you have to turn it, quite forcibly, to about the 2 o'clock position to get it off. Even then it is prone to dripping.

Do you think the cartridge may be the problem?

TIA.

Craig.

I have an idea the Bristan is a re-brand of another major maker.

I've had this occur when there is limescale inside the mixer. If you're thinking of changing the cartridge yourself, do you feel up to dismantling it and giving it a clean with a mild household descaler? Get some silicone grease for reassembly. There is probably an overhaul kit including new rubber seals.

Thanks for that. Yes I will look for a kit and give it a go.

Craig.
