Bristan Thermostatic Cartridge Removal

Hopefully someone can help. I’m trying to remove the thermostatic cartridge from my Bristan shower as it’s stuck on cold. I’ve got as far as the pics, but don’t think the piece I’ve removed is the cartridge - can someone please confirm? Thanks!

I've done a few of these, but not recently, from memory I used a socket to unscrew the cartridge, I also remember that you have to be v careful not to lose bits inside the valve.
Lots of helpful youtube vids on it.
Easy when you've done the first one.

Thanks for the reply! Which bit am I meant to unscrew? That giant nut that’s 40mm wide?

Thanks Andy, I’ll try and find a socket big enough as an adjustable wrench just slips off.

I do, doesn’t seem to budge it though. Is there some was to loosen it, like a WD40 type spray?
