This is about a senior member of staff sharing his personal views to the detriment of his employer.

The detriment was the malice of the US embassy. Its called cancellation culture.

He has said he would force the military to commit crimes.
He praises the legacy of Saddam and Gaddafi.
He criticised an American Military family for attending a Democratic convention.
He mimicked a disabled reporter.
He's made plenty of xenophobic and islamophobic comments.

And there's more, much more.

You or the UK don't employ Trump. If you did you could decide to sack him if you thought those were good grounds for dismissal.

I wouldn’t dream of sharing my personal views on LinkedIn even despite planning to retire shortly.

But being sacked for criticising the US President is apparently OK.

Assuming you hold a senior position in your company? Would you openly share your lefty, personal views in a linkedin post?

Its obviously a complete no go, and someone who works in PR, is the first person who should know this.
