i have a britony t2 water heater but the temp has dropped.
i thought it was the diaphram that needed replacing but the engineer said its a faulty gas valve which is not firing up.
hes asked me to purchase a gas valve and water section.
does that make sense?
does anyone know where i could purchase these parts?
thanks inadvance

When did you last have your diaphragm exchanged ?.
Great water heaters but need a specialist for repairs and servicing, needs more than a fga poker (y)

No. Beware persons who ask the customer to buy the parts.

Reasons for that include:
- they don't know where to buy them
- they don't want any responsibility for when the repair doesn't work
- it's some kind of tax avoidance deal.

That does make sense.
Suppose I'll have to get a second opinion.
Its just past 1am...I can't sleep. I have a young family and really need the hot water.
Any advice is much appreciated.

try these numbers and see who they recommend for your area, they will have approved repairers and might do a fixed price repair.

It could be the nylon cam is not located correctly on the gas tap spindle, they can easily do this if someone is a bit heavy handed when rotating the control knob from the ignition to the ON position.
