Hi.

I have a 3 year old Intesa combination boiler which has just stopped working for the central heating. It makes a grinding noise when the central heating is turned on before turning itself off, but it works fine for hot water.

Any ideas?

Is the system pressure correct? About 1-1.5 Bar?

It was down to 0.5, but I put more water in to bring it up to 1.5 and tried to run it again but I got the same response with the grinding noise.

I cannot guess without being there whats wrong.

Obviously all the main components are working as it gives hot water.

It sounds as if you may need to call a compentent boiler engineer!

That's odd, because the rest of the time you brag that you're able to diagnose most boiler faults over the 'phone.

Do you recommend getting one who can spell, or doesn't that matter?
