Hi,

I have a "Harp" brand trv fitted to a radiator.
It became stuck so I tried to free it up by tapping the pin of the valve.
This worked but also served to crack the cap nut that holds the rubber valve stem seal in.
So, water leaks past the stem unless it is in the fully up (on) position.

All I need is a replacement for this tiny plastic cap nut. Any ideas where I can get one?
Perhaps someone has an old valve lying about somewhere?

Wish you had'nt done that I bet
You only needed to use pliers and gently manipulate the pin up and down. Go down the local plumbers and buy a replacement TRV, can get for as little as £6/£7.

If the pin was sticking then I would suggest the system is dirty and muck was causing the pin to stick.[/quote]
