Hi all,

I have a 1st floor window lock that is misbehaving, after some trial an error it seems to me that is the mechanism that is broken within side the window (when i turn the handle, the mecanism doesnt move anymore (and even bows outward slightly)

From researching online I think it's this kind of type https://upvcspares4repairs.co.uk/anglian-upvc-gear-box-window-lock-left-right-hand-shoot-bolt.html

My question is how do I actually remove this? I'm assuming the plastic looking bits are just covers that come off? Can I just replace this part and not the rods that come out?

Any help would be appreciated

John

It's just a case of xxxx or bust.
Take handle off.
Pull plastic stips off the side and start removing.
Get parts out.
Then order more if you can fix

As Wayners said, I've changed countless of these s*** anglian gearboxes, you just have to use brute force to unclip the plastic covers and you'll be throwing them away after because they won't be straight anymore, fishing the gearbox out of the window is also an ordeal but you can be brutal with that as its scrap now, good luck
