i had two phone lines in the house when i moved in, line 'A' and line 'B'.

B was for fax and internet. A the main phone line. I'm now on broadband so no longer needed the two lines. B was a better number so A was 'disconnected' - electronically i assume as it was done within an hour of my call.

However I've now found that ALL the phonbe points downstairs were connected to A, not B. Still with me?

My question then is can I connect the downstairs boxes to line B, if so how, or do I have to involve BT (as if I dont know the answer)

its time for Cilla Black......surpise surprise, you do not need BT.

find the two sockest which are closest together one on A and one on B and run a cable between the two. connecting like to like

you can use this cable

you should also cut off the main incoming line
