Hello

I am in the process of doing my driveway up, I would like to build a small path infront of the house using pathing bricks which will maybe go round the edge of the front garden too,
Can someone give me advice on how to prepare and lay the bricks properly?

do you mean concrete block paviors, sets?

if so you would normally lay these on a 50mm ish prepared bed of screed sand, which is in turn on 100-150mm compacted hard core or m.o.t.

edges of paving need restraint either by bedding the edge paviors on mortar or concrete, or by pre laying edging kerbs.

the whole lot then gets wackered and joint filled with kiln dried sand.

because the wacker can knock the paviors down a little uneven, particularly on smaller areas such as pathways, we tend to lay the paviors on a screed sand and cement mix. this does away with the wacker altogether, you just have to keep off them for 24 hrs.
