have you asked how much the wood will be it aint cheap
and you need well seasond for a table iff you dont want splits
oroko is simmilar grain but cheaper but still expensive

Not yet big-all. A few more projects taken precedence over this at the moment. Just found out relatives are making a trip up this weekend, so could bring the wood up with them. If I purchase it now, I could season it (if it hasn't been already) for a year...these benches can wait I guess. I've seen Oroko before (had totally forgotten about it). Not sure if that's something they have...this place is literally in the middle of a forest...mountains upon mountains of logs (2-3 stories high and more!), so most would be from there (Oroko ever grown here???).
That's a good thought though all - mate had a door made from it (looks v similar to Oak, but far cheaper).
I'll report back when I phone them.
