Sorry, missed this before.Is your house piled? If not then how old and is it OK?
Sand is inert, it's not going to biodegrade and sink as topsoil would.
My understand is that the risk is that groundwater flows can move it around. But our sand seems to be pretty sticky, it has grains within it that go down to clay/silt size. It's basically crunchy clay.
Yes my house is piled, was built in 78.
The ground around us looks likes yours does - everything must be piled round here because BC say so.
