We are in the process of building an extension and all plans have been passed. but we have just noticed that there is a condition on there which states
"A1 Loading - roof truss calculations are required prior to commencement of relevant works on site".

We ordered the trussed rafters a week ago and they will be delivered in about 2 weeks. Do we need tell the council at this stage and if so what do we need to provide them with, as we will not have any info from the roofing company until they deliver them?

Truss rafter manufacturers will provide the calc's along with the trusses.

so long as you are using a reputable truss manufacturer then you won't get a problem.
but if bob the builder is doing them - get a hard hat and a lawyer

LOL - they will go straight into the filing cabinet. The BCO will only look at them to make sure they get filed under the correct address

This is true!

Unless the roof is an unusual design then b.c. may not even bother asking for the calc's.
